This is a desparate plea--time is running out! April 10 is the deadline.
The third edition of the "Directory of Scientists Engaged in Photosynthetic
Research" will by published this summer and distributed to all attendees of
the Xth International Photosynthesis Congress in Montpellier, France in
late August. Copies will also be sent to all libraries subscribing to the
"Photosynthesis Research" journal.
A corrections/additions form was sent with the mailing of the Second
Circular of the Xth Congress. We have received many of the forms back, but,
oddly enough, we have received ALMOST NONE from the US, Japan, and Western
Europe. As the April 10 deadline is nearly here, I would like to remind
everyone to get the forms in as soon as possible.
In previous editions, we asked that only persons of Ph.D. or the equivalent
level be included. However, for this edition we have also opened it up to
all graduate students who expect to remain in the photosynthesis field or
to anyone who would be joining an international photosynthesis society,
should one be formed.
Please dig out your Second Circulars and fill out and mail or fax us the
forms. Copy the forms for your colleagues and students. If you are only
correcting a couple items from the previous directory, you can email me the
information. If you didn't get the Second Circular, let me know and I will
arrange to have a form sent to you by fax.
If you are not sure if the information in the previous edition has changed,
send me a form or email anyway.
There have been many changes in the last 3 years that people often
overlook. Make sure I get your email and fax numbers. I would like to get
all the new 5-digit mail codes from German researchers. I understand that
the Netherlands is changing their phone numbers this fall, but most people
already know what the changes will be--but I don't. Many US cities and
states have revised their telephone area codes. It would be nice to
include all of this most recent information in the 3rd edition.
