Essential functions:
The successful applicant will act as Manager of the ASU Laser Facility. The
facility houses Raman Scattering, femto- and nano-second transient
absorption spectroscopy, and picosecond single photon timing
instrumentation. The manager will help operate and service the laser
equipment in the facility, develop new spectroscopic techniques, assist
research groups with computer-intensive data acquisition needs, participate
in preparation of instrumentation proposals, and perform diverse technical
and financial management tasks at the Laser Facility. These tasks include
the operation of a Multiuser Raman setup which services a variety of on-
and off-campus groups.
Qualifications required:
Applications are solicited from candidates with a strong background in
optical measurements and instrumentation. A Ph.D. degree in areas of
Physics, Chemistry, or Materials Science is required. the candidates must
also be fluent in computer language and operating systems, including DOS,
Microsoft Windows and Unix.
