To my shame I do not know who first used the term 'photosynthesis'. It
seems to have appeared in the literature in about 1898. It may well have
been introduced by Sachs but I am only guessing. For the moment I cannot
get to a good library Can anyone help? If so, it would be nice to have the
source as well as the name.
