Dear Colleagues:
I was recently approached by the head of our students labs about setting up
a photosynthesis experiment for a senior undergraduate biophysics lab course,
and would like to ask your help in pointing me to any literature or sharing
with me some of the experiments used in similar labs at your institution.
Currently we are thinking along the lines of a light induced fluorescence
experiment, and/or monitoring of oxygen generation. A pulsed laser (nitrogen-
pumped dye) is available, as well as photomultipliers and an oxygen electrode.
The main problem is sample preparation. The easiest samples to work with are
obviously whole plant leaves. How much effort is it to prepare chloroplasts?
I really appreciate any input I can get. Thank you very much in advance,
