Regarding the question about interconversion of light units from lux to micromo
l photons m-2s-1 (400-700 nm), a handy rule-of-thumb I have memorized is:
100,000 lux = 10,000 ft.c. = 2,000 micromol m-2s-1 = 400 Wm-2
This is of course a very rough interconversion, and is based on full sun value
s (at least in Florida).
