POSTDOC POSITIONS IN ECOPHYSIOLOGY/GLOBAL CHANGE
Two postdoctoral positions are available starting immediately. This
project is funded by NSF and focuses on compensatory mechanisms by which
plants can enhance N and P acquisition in response to CO2 enrichment.
Both lab/greenhouse and field approaches will be used. Field experiments
will be conducted at 6 nationally funded FACE sites in conjunction with
other global change researchers. The successful candidates must have a
strong physiological background particularly in plant water and nutrient
relations and must be familiar with issues related to CO2 research.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in 1)
below-ground ecophysiology, particularly in root foraging, nutrient
uptake kinetics and ectomycorrhizae and/or 2) plant N and C interaction,
nitrogen metabolisms, gas-exchange, photosynthetic N and P use
efficiencies. Experience with radioactive and stable isotopes, soil and
plant tissue analysis of nutrients will also be a plus. The annual
salary will be $25,000 to $30,000 depending on experience plus benefits.
