The software we originally tested with members of this group for
calculations and curve fitting associated with photosynthetic measurement
has been developed further. Thanks to our colleagues who tested the
original program and made valuable comments for additions and improvements.

Many features of the program (Photosyn Assistant) have been enhanced
including the curve fitting, parameter estimation and graphic output
associated with light response curves and ACi analysis. A series of new
applications including leaf energy balance, daily irradiance, unit
conversions, stomatal conductivity and oxygen electrode calculations are
now included. The program contains wider referencing and can read data
files produced by IRGAs or O2 electrodes instruments directly. The curve
fitting routines now allow individual parameters such as apparent quantum
efficiency to be fixed, enhancing modelling opportunities. The input data
range has been increased in the three curve fitting applications.

The program may be useful for both research and teaching, and is now
available as a commercial product. More information is available at
http:\\www.scientific.force9.co.uk or by e-mail to
information at scientific.force9.co.uk.

Thanks again to those who have supported and assisted in the program
development.
