Dear photosynthesis colleagues:
I received the following note from Professor Steve Brody (see below the double
line).
Professor Helmut Metzner was the one who had organized the first International
Congress on Photosynthesis in Germany.
The proceedings were published in 3 volumes as "Progress in Photosynthesis
Research" (edited by H. Metzner), publication sponsored by
International Union of Biological Sciences, printed by H Laupp Jr. in
Tuebingen, Germany. I have fond memories of meeting him and accepting his
hospitality while visiting Tuebingen.
Does anyone know more about this sad news? Please send me suggestions for a
name and address (E-mail) of someone who you think could prepare an obituary
for Prof. Metzner. Thanks.
