Dear Friends of Marty Gibbs:
I am sad to inform you that a great friend Dr. Martin Gibbs, and a
pioneer of 'Plant Physiology', particularly Photosynthesis Research,
passed away peacefully on July 24 at 9:08 PM. His contributions to American
Society of Plant Physiology (now Biology) and to the journal "Plant
Physiology" are well known to us all. His discoveries had major impact in
our field.

" The wake will be held Thursday, July 27 4:30-7:30 pm at Douglass Funeral
Home, 51 Worthen Rd, Lexington MA 02421; tel. 781-862-1800.
The FUNERAL will be held Friday, July 28 12:30 pm beginning at the
Douglass Funeral Home (if you wish to participate in the processional)
and the burial will be at the Westview Cemetary on Bedford St in
Lexington on the Bedford town line. The directions are on the web:

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Lexington
Council on Aging, Supportive Daycare, 20 Mill St., Lincoln, MA 01773"
