Hi Plant-eders. I am a P-Chemer. But I like your
science, and the reflection of your pedagogy A LOT.
(blush).

I think so. The teacher who can write problem
solving exams can provide an advantage
to the problem-solvers. The teacher who
chooses not to, falls into Jon's
   pitfall. And teachers thus continue
as they ever have, to propagate their kind

Oooo! *not* a freudian slip :-)

A poor substitute indeed-- but what a help for a teacher!!! And have
we not *yearned* for the day when we could more open the preparation
  room to our students???

Changing the topic (some): Anybody who thinks that the internet and/or
broadband communications will obviate the need for teachers is
either malevolent or innocent (there is an uglier way to say that, but
I won't): I think it creates the potential for many MORE GREAT
teachers... MANY more...and all the society-changing impact that implies.

  (Now getting off his soap-box)

  John
