For a good diagnostic tool based on plant injury symptoms, try the one
created by Arden Tagstad of the North Dakota Forest Service. It is very
easy to use, requires minimal taxonomic abilities and lists good picture
references for each disorder. It is divided between Conifers and
Hardwoods.
