I would say that pricing is very difficult to
compare...by the time you add an ethernet board,
sound board, display card, SCSI card etc. to a
basic WINTEL box (so you are about on par with
a standard Mac) I think the prices are more nearly
equivalent.
I have already posted my comment that I think the
platforms have equivalent software and hardware
interfacing available. Much new software is
published cross-platform.
