   I'm looking for a research technician.  A copy of the job description

Carleton College seeks a Research Assistant in Biology.  This is a fulltime,
one year appointment to begin October 1, 1996, with the possibility of
renewal.

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:  Analyze patterns of floral gene expression in
peas using in situ hybridization.  Also, potential orthologs to flowering
genes in other species
will be investigated using RFLP and sequence analyses.  In addition to general
laboratory responsibilities, research assistant will also work with
undergraduate student
researchers in the laboratory.

QUALIFICATIONS:  BS/BA degree in Biology or related field.  Prefer experience
in genetics and molecular biology, including in situ hybridization and Southern
analysis.
