Liverworts

I'd like to say that perhaps David's idea...

are the combined answer to the question of Marchantia
dominance in textbooks.  Marchantia is indeed a weed
in my greenhouse and I have never seen a leafy liverwort
spontaneously become a weed.  I'm hoping that someone
on the net will post an answer to Mary Barkworth's
question.

If I could find a large leafy that was easy to grow and had
a large sporophyte and so on, I would take some pictures
and get some scans on the WWW for everyone to start using.
So if anyone out there has spores or gametophytes to share,
please contact me via email or snail mail.  Thanks!
