Plant Ecology Position Announcement

Plant Ecologist, Assistant Professor.  The Department of Biology &
Microbiology, University of Wisconsin-La Crosse invites applications for an
academic year, tenure-track position to begin August 25, 1997.  Applicants
must have a strong commitment to undergraduate education.  The successful
candidate will be expected to teach a course in the ecology and taxonomy of
aquatic vascular plants.  This person will also be expected to  develop a
course in his/her area of expertise and participate in one or more of the
following courses: ecology, plant biology, and introductory biology.  The
successful candidate will be expected to develop an externally-funded
research program and direct undergraduate and graduate (MS) research. The
department has a 50,000-specimen herbarium. A Ph.D. in Botany with an
emphasis in plant ecology is required; experience with wetland
ecology/systematics of aquatic vascular plants is preferred.  Send
