Subject: Re: NABT Roundtable
Dear Colleague Teachers,
At this year's NABT meeting in Charlotte, Cynthia Chung and I are
hosting a ROUNDTABLE on the laboratory research experience. This will
take place Friday, midday.
We hope you will join in to share your experience working in a
professional research lab (academic/industrial/government). If you
cannot attend the meeting, I welcome your reply (via e-mail) and would
relay your experience (with your permission).
How has working in a lab affected your perspective on science teaching?
Content, process, attitude?
How did you feel getting used to working in a new environment?
How did you arrange your research experience? Scientific society/
university program/ on your own, etc?
Have you been able to keep up your contacts? Have researchers visited
your classes/provided materials/expertise?
Are there additional features that you think it would be helpful to
discuss?
Regards,
Toby Horn
