IBA and NAA dangerous to life: NOT

There have been postings to this group requesting information whether
rooting hormones are potential cancer agents.

The most common rooting hormones are IBA and NAA. Both  have been used
since the 1930's without a history of either cancer agent or danger to
the environment. In recent time the US EPA had a data call in on both of
them and found that neither has had a detrimental effect to to land or
health. Neither has been found to have dermal, inhalation, ingestion
problems, eye irritation is low and reversible within a few hours.

Most rooting hormones in commercial formulas have 0.1 to 20% active
ingredient as packaged. You will not have any prblem with any of them
nor with laboratory grade
