PROFESSOR OF PLANT BIOLOGY IN THE SCHOOL OF ENVIRONMENTAL & EVOLUTIONARY BIOLOGY
The School (graded 4 in the recent RAE) proposes to appoint a new Professor
in Plant Biology. We are primarily looking for an individual with an
outstanding track record in research, to provide academic leadership within
the School's Sir Harold Mitchell Laboratory for Plant Sciences and
Evolutionary Biology. Research on plants within the School currently
includes studies on molecular physiology, animal-plant interactions,
speciation and biodiversity. Excellent support and facilities for research
are available including glasshouses for transgenic plants. The successful
candidate will also be expected to contribute to the undergraduate and
postgraduate teaching programmes.
The post is available from 1 September 1998 and a competitive salary will
