plants that can grow in the dark?

Lemna can and has been cultured indefinitely in darkness if it is axenic
and it is supplied with sugar.  I strongly suspect the same can be said
for Arabidopsis.  I do not have the refs. on Lemna, but they can be dug up
through the older books on endogenous rhythms and photoperiod.  I think
William Hillman may have published some of this.
