I think the cafeteria poster presentations are genius.
I should have added that the projects I described in an earlier post also
have to presented to the class. I try to have students present a lot --
from mini things like preliminary results at the end of a lab to these
projects. It helps break the mind-set that education and learning are
just interactions between teacher and student, where teacher makes perhaps
arbitrary (from the student's perspective) demands that the student is then
expected to satisfy.
