The appointee will contribute to the teaching of general plant biology at
undergraduate level, supervise postgraduate research and undertake research
in any area of plant biology relevant to the University's location in the
tropics.
Applicants must have a postgraduate qualification in some area of plant
sciences and a proven ability to undertake independent research work.
Preference will be given to applicants able to make a major contribution to
the teaching of plant sciences at first and second years level and with
expertise in one or more of the following areas: the biology of algae,
fungi and lower plants; plants of marine or freshwater ecosystems; plant
cell biology. The provision of a teaching profile would be an advantage.
Tenure: The position is available for a probationary period up to three
years with provision for conversion to tenure.
Salary: Lecturer Academic Level B- $43042 - $51113 a year. Commencing salary
according to qualification and experience.
