Hi David
I have two English Ivy plants in a plant window on the North side of
my house. It has gotten cold enough that the water in the reservoir
has frozen a couple of times, and they are still doing great.
The vines are weaved around the window like a framework, then up and
over a crossbar that is decorative between the cabinets over the
kitchen sink. They are weaved back and forth on this about three
passes and then reach out over the tops of the cabinets.
Not much light up there, especially in the winter, yet we lose very
few leaves.
All of my plants are in hydroculture! No dirt, no bugs, no mess and
no transplanting.
TTUL
