Dear Kathleen and Plant-edders,
If you can afford the reduction in light, a neat trick is to put an
empty petri plate on top. We use used plastic plates. It puts the
greenhouse effect in the top plate instead of the culture plate. We have
done it with moss protonema cultures when we teach and it teaches students
more about the greenhouse effect and keeps most of our plate lids dry so
students can see through them.
