Plant-eders:

In tetrasporic embryos (e.g., Lilium), the polar nuclei is tetraploid.
During fertilization one sperm fuses with the polar nuclei and one with the
egg. This means then that the endosperm is pentaploid. Is this
interpretation correct?

Thanks

Magaly
