Botanist: Texas Lutheran University is seeking a broadly-trained
botanist (plant taxonomist or physiologist preferred) to teach Plant
Biology, take part in teaching our Introductory Biology sequence, and
develop a Plant Systematics course. The successful candidate will be
expected to develop a research program involving undergraduates, and to
seek extramural funding. Postdoctoral experience and experience with
analytical instuments (HPLC, CG-MS) preferred. Additional requirements:
An understanding and affirmation of the mission of Texas Lutheran
University, a university of the liberal arts and sciences in the
Lutheran tradition (ELCA); a commitment to excellence in teaching,
including teaching in the General Education Curriculum; advising
students; committee work; and service to the community. Starting Date:
August 1998. Reveiw of applications begins on Jan. 10, 1998. Submit a
letter of application addressing the above critera, recent c.v., copies
of transcripts of undergraduate and graduate work, a separate statement
of teaching philosophy, and five references (names, addresses, and
