germinating seeds

I have some pear seeds and a mango pit (from supermarket fruits) that I
would like to grow. Does anyone know anything about these species? Does the
mango require scarification? It looks pretty tough. Do pear seeds need cold
treatment like apple seeds to break dormancy?
