I would like to use field collected Brassica rapa (in addition to the rapid cycling Brassica rapa that I ordered from Wisconsin Fast Plants) in competition experiments in my Plant Ecology course. I believe I have collected field mustard (the wild Brassica rapa), but I'm not completely sure (all the characteristics I could find on the dried, leafless plant matched the Flora of West Virginia description). The seeds are about 3 cm long and 1 cm wide, in a pod that is about 7-9 cm long. Does that sound about right for Brassica rapa in the field? The rapid cycling seeds seem SO much smaller.
Thanks!
