Plant wax,yes! Animal waxes?

           I was talking to my class about the role of plant waxes in
preventing dessication.
           Someone asked about animals.  
      Of course, keratin is the protein that plays the analagous role in
animals, but do animals have waxes? Is ear wax really wax? Could you make it
into a (rather small) candle?
