Assistant Professor of Plant Developmental Biology

The Faculty of Environmental and Forest Biology (EFB) seeks a plant
developmental biologist to fill an academic year, tenure-track, Assistant
Professor position by Fall, 1999. The successful candidate will be
expected to establish an internationally recognized and extramurally
supported research program utilizing modern approaches to fundamental
problems in plant developmental biology; to teach at the undergraduate and
graduate levels; and to participate in the public service activities of the
College. Teaching responsibilities may include undergraduate courses in
Concepts of Developmental Biology, and Plant Anatomy and Development.
Graduate courses and research commensurate with the interests of the
candidate may include mycorrhizae and root biology, molecular aspects of
plant growth and development, microtechnique, plant-herbivore interactions,
and environmental effects on plant development. The candidate's research
program should complement the specialized mission of the college, and
interface with other EFB faculty, which includes ecologists, mycologists,
plant pathologists, physiologists, chemical ecologists, wildlife
biologists, and cell and molecular biologists. Requirements include a
Ph.D. in Plant Biology or related field, and post-doctoral experience.
