Virginia,
	Get a copy of:
Plant Biotechnology : A Laboratory Manual by Robert J. Lebowitz
Amazon Price: $37.55 Paperback Spiral edition (January 1995)
WCB/McGraw-Hill; ISBN: 0697151190 Availability: This title usually ships
within 4-6 weeks.

His lab manual does what you are talking about.

I tried the boxes but contamination was overwhelming. Kits
are available from some companies for laminar benches.

You might want a video, try the URL:
	http://www.zeta.org.au/~brianc/pcc.htm

It is a good video and will help with asepsis but is in a
non-USA format. The distributor in Australia are almost
incompetent. (sorry about the language)

If you do a complete Internet search for a search string
"laminar and airflow and bench and kit" I bet you will
turn up something. I was in your position three years ago
and finally got a donation of biological cabinets and
purchase two huge laminars from military surplus through
the State Agency for Surplus Property that are also on
the Internet at:

	http://www.drms.dla.mil/index.html

I also found student that had taken Microbiology were
self confident to extreme and unable to adjust to the
more strict asepsis required of plant media. I have to
almost reprogram them to avoid contamination.

Let me know if I can help by email.
