We have the following postions open at the Medicinal Plant Garden
The Thad Cochran National Center for Natural Products Research is
seeking qualified R & D staff to fill the following positions. All
positions are located at the Center's medicinal plant garden, starting
dates are negotiable, and positions remain open until filled. Positions
are in support of an existing program (3
years) and are subject to continued funding.
Field Agronomist: Working independently, guided by senior staff, the
successful
applicant will perform large-scale grow-out studies, agronomic viability
studies, density studies and agricultural methodology studies related to
agri-medicinal crops in support of Center projects. Masters' degree or
bachelors' degree with five years equivalent
experience required.
Senior R & D Staff\Horticulturist: The successful candidate will have
a masters degree, or bachelors' degree with five years equivalent
experience, and knowledge of landscaping, landscape design, landscape
construction, transplanting, propagation and irrigation. Broad botanical
knowledge including knowledge of plant taxonomy and morphology is also
desired.
Field Botanist: Working independently, the successful applicant will =
collect
plants
and germplasm in support of lead compound discovery and medicinal plant =
crop
improvement activities. Masters' degree, or bachelors' degree with five
years equivalent experience, and knowledge of botany, plant taxonomy, =
plant
identification, wild plant collection, plant sampling and germplasm
acquisition required.
