plant-ed alternatives?

David and other frustrated Plant-eders,

I too am frustrated by the spam... To answer your questions, I am
not aware of any alternative to Plant-ed specifically for plant
biologists. However, the users have not dropped out, they are just
not speaking up. In fact, subscriptions to the newsgroup are up from
the summer and are near their all-time high. Before we decide to
close up shop on this this newsgroup, lets hold off a bit longer and
see if the transfer of the BIOSCI operations to the UK - scheduled
for early December - has the predicted effect of reducing spam. If
it does not we should reconsider the idea of having a moderator.
