Thanks to Christine for the nice review paper on organelle inheritance in
plants. I haven't worked in this specific area for many years and most of
my collection of old papers on the subject was purged long ago. Checking
the Mogensen paper Christine cited confirms that pollen grains of
angiosperms *do* contain plastids - they are not excluded in the formation
of pollen. Plastids are often excluded from the cytoplasm of the
generative cell which goes on to produce sperm, but they are present in the
pollen grain.
