We're using Dickison's new (2000) text, "Integrated Plant Anatomy".
It's not organized the way Mauseth was, but students are finding that
with a little guidance from me (eg. page #s), it reads well. It has a
lot of applications of anatomy to everyday life (but few colour
pictures), and has more up-to-date information about many aspects of
anatomy. I couldn't really change lab organization to fit the book,
because the way I had it organized really works well (and has worked
well for years--follows the Davis model), but students aren't
complaining. So, go with the flow, I always say.

Today three billion people will eat rice.
The genome is being sequenced.
