Preserving the color of plants embedded in clear plastic

I want to make whole mounts of mosses, liverworts, etc in plastic,
using epoxy or methacrylate, or whatever is best). But is there some
way to preserve the natural pigments of plants embedded in this way?
These plants are not very interesting to study without their original
colors intact.
