MANAGER, BERNARD FIELD STATION
Claremont University Consortium, the central coordinating and support
organization for the seven Claremont Colleges, is seeking candidates for
the position of Manager of the Bernard Biological Field Station (BFS),
to manage the BFS by coordinating use, maintaining habitats and Field
Station Facilities, keeping records and supervising student employees
and users. This is a two to three year position, with possibility of
extension.
The Manager is an employee of Claremont University Consortium and as
such reports to the Chief Executive Officer. For purposes of academic
consultation, the Manager consults with the Lead Academic Dean and the
CUC Director of Facilities for land and property management purposes.
Overall supervision is the responsibility of the CEO of the Consortium.
The BFS is an approximately 80-acre facility located adjacent to the
Colleges' campuses in Claremont, CA. The BFS comprises a diversity of
habitat types (including native sage scrub, non-native grasslands and an
artificial lake), which are used extensively by undergraduate courses in
ecology and environmental biology at the Claremont Colleges.
Qualifications:
Include relevant experience in ecological monitoring of terrestrial
habitats. MS degree in relevant field is required. Please refer to the
