It should only take a few weeks/a month. make sure you have the
specific partners in terms of the species of plant and the strain of
bacteria. also don't have any (or very little) fixed nitrogen
(nitrate or ammonium) in your soil/nutrient solution - use washed
vermiculite (rather than potting soil). I just bought some
legume-aid inoculant at the local farm and garden store, or mail
order fromBurpee.
