The saga continues: Carolina is now telling me that the large, hairy
sporocarps they sent me were in fact M. quadrifolia. If so, then
Connecticut Valley misidentified the ones I used to get from them.
Whichever, the big, hairy ones still do not germinate, while the small,
dark, smooth ones do. Do any of you know if Carolina or CV was right
about the ID? If the smooth ones are not M. quadrifolia, anyone know
what they are so I can search for that species? Thanks for any help.
Cheers, Sue
