I was told this by a biochemist back when C3 and C4 plants were first
news. However, at night it is not recycled, except possibly in C4 and
CAM plants. I wonder if anyone has looked at the recylcing of CO2 at
night into malate or other storage form in those two. And I don't
know if the tracer studies have attempted to show if ALL is recycled in C3
in the daytime.
