This is a little off-track of Plant Education issues, but I was
wondering about publication of DNA sequences in the NCBI GenBank.....
What level of scholarship does that represent at your institution in
terms of decisions about faculty tenure and promotion?
Certainly, a GenBank publication involves no where near the same level
of scholarship that a research article published in a refereed journal,
but would a published GenBank Accession rank higher than an abstract for
a poster presented at a national meeting?
Thanks for any thoughts or experiences you might have.....
