Can¹t remember if I mentioned this before but no harm, perhaps, to mention
it again. Long ago, Gerry Edwards and I wrote a book called C3C4.
Inevitably this is long since out of print and out of date but equally much
of its content remains valid and I was prompted to send this reminder when I
felt obliged to come up with an easy way of looking at photosynthesis with
little more than a Ph meter, a beaker, a stirrer, and a bicarbonate
solution. You can find a figure, illustrating the kinetics of photosynthesis
induction, using this method on page 147 if you or your library has the
book. Alternatively, you may download the entire text in PDF (520 pages, 7.1
MB, a couple of minutes via broadband). This is now available (open access)
from a secure University of Sheffield site. All you need to do is to Email
