[Plant-education] evolution of photosynthetic pigments

Hi Fellow Plant Scientists,

I had an interesting question posed to me as I rang the elevator to go
home this afternoon regarding the evolution of photosynthetic pigments.
There looks to have been some particularly appropriate papers published
in the 1970s that address this idea, but I can't seem to even get a full
citation from PubMed. Can someone please point me to a good reference
(and maybe a more recent one that I have a higher chance of getting
ahold of)?

Thanks and have a great long weekend,
Kristen Lennon
