A colleague has been doing organic solvent extractions/pigment analyses
on field grown leaves. In some cases, leaves are collected and stored
dry for up to two weeks prior to the extractions. For comparable
samples, the fresh material always yields higher chlorophyll
concentrations. What is the best way to store the leaf samples prior
to performing solvent extractions to preserve the chlorophyll content?
