The April, 2008 Scientific American cover proclaims "The Shocking
Colors of Alien Plants." The cover article actually has the less
sensational title "The Color of Plants on Other Worlds." It is an
interesting article but is marred by fundamental errors such as the
claims that Earth plants reflect all green wavelengths and that green
photons "have neither the energy nor the numbers" to be effective in
photosynthesis.
