Subject: [Plant-education] plants & man course development

Plant Folks,

I would like to develop a new course with lab targeted primarily at
non-science majors, but of interest to majors who might count it as what
we call a "related course". The course I envision is taught under
various names, including "Plants and Human Affairs" (offered by Harvard
since 1876), "plants and man", "plants and humanity"...well, you know
what I'm talking about.

I would like to collect syllabi for similar types of courses. If anyone
would like to share, I'd appreciate copies. I'll also collect them and
make them available to anyone else who might be interested.

I'm very interested in learning how labs are taught for such a course.

Suggestions of textbooks are welcome. My favorite is "Economic Botany"
by Simpson & Ogorzaly, but am not sure if it is still in print or if it
is the right book for my class.

Thank you,
Scott
