Do you know an outstanding plant biology educator? Why not nominate him
or her for the ASPB's Excellence in Education Award, which "recognizes
outstanding teaching, mentoring, and/or educational outreach in plant
biology by an individual, whether or not a member of the Society. It is
a monetary award to be made annually in recognition of excellence in
teaching, leadership in curricular development, or authorship of
effective teaching materials in the science of plant biology".
Nominations must be received by March 1, 2012. (Note that according to
the bylaws, nominations must come from ASPB members, so if you're not a
member perhaps you should join...)
Nomination packages require, in a single PDF file:
* 1-2 page letter of nomination in which you state the nominee's
qualifications for the award (contributions relevant to the objective of
the award and significance of those contributions).
* A detailed curriculum vitae of the nominee that includes
education, positions held, previous honors or awards, past service to
ASPB and to the profession, and a publications list.
