Research Technician Position Open, University of West Florida.
Funded research program (2+ years) in microbial ecology of
biodegradation - Protist contributions to bacterial mineralization
activity. Work involves culturing both bacteria and bacterivorous
protists, setting up batch and continuous culture experiments, collecting
and analyzing data, light and confocal laser microscope work, some chemical
analyses. Lab is located on the north Gulf Coast of Florida, well equipped
for microbiology and chemistry. Motivation and competence more important
than experience, but both are desired.
BS degree and lab experience or MS degree required. Tentative
start date October 1, 1994.
