I would say the rumors in the wind are not
correct.
The major ciliate taxa (classes if you will)
like heterotrichs, karyorelictids, phyllopharyngiids,
colpodids, oligohyemnophorans, prostomes, nassophoreans,
litostomes, hypotrichs hold together pretty well
with the exceptions already discussed in the
literature (problems with Metopus and heterotrichs,
differences in the circumscription of the nassophorea).
