Did you teach a protozoan component in the protist course, artificially separat
e from other protist phyla? If so did you approach the taxonomy from a cladist
ic point of view, and ecological/functional orientation, "artificial" taxonomic
groups such as "flagellates" and "sarcodynes", or some other way? If you have
tried several approaches which did you find most easily understood by undergra
duate students?
