Hi Crytpsporidium researchers:

We are working on PCR detection of Cryptosporidium in
environmental samples.

As there is a chance of cross-rectivity of our primers with other
Cryptosporidium species, we would be interested to look at C. meleagridis
(a Cryptosporidium species isolated from turkeys) and at reptilian
as well as amphibian and fish species of Cryptosporidum.

If you have or know where to get these species, please let us know.

So far, we sequenced the small ribosomal RNA coding regions from
C. parvum (a calf and a human isolate), C. baileyi, C. muris, and
C. wrairi. All sequences are available in GenBank. Our results
were published two years ago in Water Sci. and Technology and the
newest paper was submitted to J. Appl. Envir. Microbiol.

Thanks in advance,

Norman
